recycled hand-dyed yarn
Recycled from unraveled tossed sweaters, or found secondhand, the repurposed yarn is then washed, dyed, and given and new life! I do all my dyeing with food dyes and kool-aid, acid set with vinegar, always exhausting the dye and letting it set in for colorfastness. Happy to put my art degree and painting background to use, I mix colors to get looks you wouldn't associate with the kids' powered drink, sometimes using a crock pot, sometimes the stove top, and sometimes a microwave for a variety of different effects!
(check the knit kits in the shop to find some of these yarns for sale)
