Big Bulky Bucket Hat

self-released in March 2008: free!

A great pattern for bulky handspun yarn; because it's knit top-down, you can easily make it exactly as long as you want without having to guess when to start decreasing. The pattern suggests a crochet edge, but if you don't like to crochet, you could knit the last 4 or 5 rows in seed stitch instead.

The stats:

Yarn: about 80-90 yards of bulky weight

Needles: set of size US 11 double pointed, optional 16" circular to switch to once it's big enough
